"You Can't Swing the Bat if You Don't Hit the Books"

Coach Bobby Link graduated from Brookwood High School in Thomasville, Georgia, received his Bachelor's Degree at St. Leo College and later earned his Masters Degree at Webster University. He was a pitcher while attending Carson-Newman College in 1981 and was a Top 10 Pitcher in the Nation with a 8-0 record at St. Leo College. He was drafted by the Pro's in 1980 and 1981 by the Baltimore Orioles but decided to stay in school. In 1985 he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians and turned professional. 1986 was a memorable year for Coach Link when his record was 6-4 as a starter in the minor leagues and he threw a perfect game. He continued to receive high rankings for his saves in Triple A Ball through 1991.

When an injury ended his professional career in 1992, Coach Link brought his expertise to the high school level at schools in Northern Florida. He then moved on to Florida  Community College at Jacksonville as an Asst. Coach ; his record was 201-69. As Head Varsity Coach at Orange Park High School in Orange Park Florida from 1997-2001, he lead his teams to a 69-54 record, One District Championship and One District Runner-up. With his guidance over 20 players have moved on to play at the college or professional level. Coach Link reached the "100 Victory" milestone for high school coaching  in the 2004 season

Coach Link is in his seventh year at Duluth High School and teaches Physical Education.

He lives in Duluth with his wife Theresa and two children, Alexander 13 and Sarah 10.

His hobbies include fishing, fishing and more fishing (especially with his kids). He is a strong believer in community participation and has volunteered his time to both the Duluth Youth Basketball and Baseball organizations. Coach Link sponsored, in Spring 2002 , 2003, 2004,  2005, 2006, and 2007 a reading session of the Varsity and Junior Varsity Ball Players at both B.B. Harris and Chattahoochee Elementary Schools.
