ASST. VARSITY COACH  - RYAN MOITY

Coach Ryan Moity is in his first year of coaching at Duluth High School. He graduated from Archbishop Hannan High School in Meraux, Louisiana and then continued his education at Loyola University to complete a bachelor’s degree in Communications and English Literature.

In high school, he played wide receiver for the football team for three years being named 1^st team all-district, 1^st team all-parish and 2^nd team all-state as a junior.  Coach Moity also played center field for four years for the baseball team being named 1^st team all district as a sophomore, junior and senior.  His high school team played for the state championship when he was a junior and lost 7 to 1 while his career high school team record was 112-20 over the four years (102-16 in the regular season and 10-4 in the playoffs).  At Loyola University, Coach Moity started center field all four years and holds 6 of Loyola’s all time records:  Games played (215), Plate appearances (831), At-Bats (738), Hits (227), Runs scored (131), and Consecutive starts (202).  He is 3^rd in school history for doubles (53) and 5^th in triples (8) and was named as a member of the GCAC All-Conference team in 2003. His team won the GCAC Conference in 2002 and he was a .308 career hitter.  Coach Moity played in the Shenandoah Valley Baseball league in Virginia and hit .301 in 40 games. 

Before coming to Duluth, Coach Moity taught Language Arts at Hannan High School while coaching varsity football and baseball.  He has worked as an Offensive Assistant (quality control/equipment) on a part-time basis for the New Orleans Saints from 2003-2007. He currently is teaching Language Arts and History to 9^th-12^th grade special education students.   

Coach Moity is married to Rachel and has one daughter, Addyson Riley.  His hobbies include weightlifting, fishing, traveling and changing diapers.
